KERIKERI DISTRICT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION – INFORMATION SHEET
The Kerikeri District Business Association works to assist and promote businesses in Kerikeri, and endeavours to create an environment for businesses to prosper and grow. The prosperity and well being of the Kerikeri business district and its immediate environs are of paramount concern and focus to the Business Association.
The Association co-ordinates various initiatives within the commercial sector, liaising with business owners to keep them informed about what is occurring in the town.
The Council structure plan highlighted the future expansion problems and concerns for Kerikeri to grow in a structured manner to improve the wellbeing not only of its residents, but its commerce environment. The Committee works on behalf of members,
actively representing them in forums within and outside our community. It also liaises with and actively promotes issues directly with Council on matters which affect our business area, with regular meetings and links with Council and Councillors. Additionally we liaise with other Business Associations in the North to ensure that matters of common interest are discussed and supported.
At present the KKDBA has approximately 230 members. The membership year runs from July through to June with the AGM held in August.
The Committee meets at 4pm on the second Thursday of each month at The Pear Tree Restaurant. Time is allocated at the beginning of the meeting for guests to speak. Members are welcome to attend these meetings. Please let one of the committee members know if you wish to attend.
