Nancy Tschetner
An exciting new artist has emerged in New Zealand with a style unique in presentation using New Zealand sand. The sand consists of up to 7 different shades obtained from around New Zealand. These colour variations allow Nancy to capture the unique attributes of that special person, place or animal.
Born in Germany, Nancy has found that the life style, nature and scenery in New Zealand were providing her with new inspiration for her art. Nancy has always been interested in all forms of art and design. As a naturally creative person, Nancy enjoyed bringing that
creativity through the use of sand to various mediums.
Nancy says” In my sand paintings and portraits I have pursued the simplistic and effective results that can be attained through contrast with the natural coloured sand of Aotearoa offering ideal texture and the contrast I was after”
Nancy has exhibited her unique sand paintings at various cafes, galleries and art exhibitions. Nancy is a member of the NZ Art Guild and Etsy.com. She has exhibited at “The Royal Easter” show in Auckland and “Kumeu Art in the Garden” show. Her artwork was displayed at the NZ Art Guild Exhibition “Borderless” at the NZ Academy of fine Arts in Wellington from the 15th – 23rd February 2011.
Nancy has a 2 ½ months exhibition at Apollo Café in Auckland in February/March 2011.
Her solo exhibition “Made by New Zealand” was held at the Taupo Museum
from the 14th of April – the 17th of May.
Nancy’s portfolio and website gallery includes sand portraits. The portraits are outstanding and bring to life that special person or pet.
